Follow your Dreams
Do you feel like you have hit a roadblock? Do you feel like your tired of the same routine every day? Do you feel like there is more to life than what you Do you feel like you have hit a roadblock? Do you feel like your tired of the same routine every day? Do you feel like there is more to life than what you are getting?are getting?
If you said “Yes” to any of these questions, then you are not following your dreams. You are not living your God-given purpose in life. God wants you to have an abundant life with abundant blessing. How can you live that abundant life of your sitting on your gifts? Why are you letting fear of failure get in the way of you following your dreams?
You know why because you are listening to the negative people in your life instead of listening to the God inside of you. You have to trust yourself and know that God has your best interest at heart. God, having your best interest does not mean that it will be easy. Following your dreams is hard work but worth it.
Following these three steps will get you closer to your dream.
1. Write down what you feel is your God-given gift.
The first step to following your dreams is to do what you’re passionate about. What is that one thing that you love doing that you would do without pay? What is that one thing you feel you were born to do? Don’t worry about if someone is doing it already. Focus on your dream and how unique your gift is. Write it down and visualize that dream.
2. Make an S.M.A.R.T Goal.
Once you decide what your dream is, then you need to make S.M.A.R.T goals to accomplish that dream. What are S.M.A.R.T Goal, it’s when you make your goal Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely.
Specific: is what you want to achieve, where, how, and when. An example would be “I want to be the best selling author” and “I will write 10 pages of my book weekly for the next 6 months”.
Measurable: is when you set mile markers to measure your progress. An example would be “how many times a week will I sit down and write my book to accomplish my 10 pages a week goal?”
Attainable: is when you identify each step, that you need to do in order to get closer to attaining your dream. An example would be “How will you see yourself achieving things, that will get you closer to your dream of being the best selling author”.
Realistic: What are some realistic steps you can take to achieving your goal? What is the reason, purpose, or benefits from accomplishing the goal? What is the result (not activities leading up to the result) of the goal? An example would be “I will write 1 hour a day.”
Timely: When do you want to achieve the goal? Are there smaller milestones that must be reached along the way? An example would be “I will have the first draft of my book ready for the first rounds of edits in six months.”
3. Execute your plan to Follow your Dreams.
Follow through on the steps you need to take to follow your dreams and when the road gets tough, PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens) through. Hard work will pay off in the end.
Don’t wait for tomorrow. Follow your dreams today. You can’t keep making excuses and letting time pass you by. Go ahead and do what God called you to do Now.
